Vadim Repin, the former child prodigy currently considered one of the greatest violinists in the world,will inaugurate the international festival of music “On the Route of Prosecco.” TheRussian musician will be the soloist in theConcerto for violin and strings in D minorby Felix Mendelssohn, at the premiere of the five nights of the prestigious event directed by Yuri Bashmet, with the resident orchestra “I Solisti di Mosca”.

The appointment is Monday, August 25th at 9.00 p.m., in the church of Saints Martin and Rose, in Conegliano (Treviso).

He started playing violin at the age of five and after only six months of study, Repin gave his first public concert.He had a meteoric and important career that has led the 42-year old artist to become one of the world stars of the music firmament, whose recognized peculiarities are poetry and sensitivity combined with an impeccable technique.

Also the artistic director of the festival, the violist Yuri Bashmet will perform as a soloist; he will perform a piece dedicated to him by the contemporary Chinese composer Tan Dun.

The inaugural concert will also include the Choir “Città di Conegliano,” directed by the maestro Laura Smith, that will perform the Dixit Dominusby Vivaldi increasing the choir with 60 extra voices, including the soloists Josephine Samogin (soprano), Giovanna Donadini (soprano), Francesca Biliotti (contralto), Danilo Formaggia (tenor) and Antonio De Gobbi (bass).

The choir and the orchestra “I Solisti di Mosca” will be directed by the Maestro Yuri Bashmet.
