Colle Umberto – Villa Lucheschi Valforte

The International Music Festival “On the Route of Prosecco” is head, heart and soul at the same time.

The Russian musician Yuri Bashmet, world wide renowned violist, will be the undisputed protagonist of the second of the five nights of the prestigious exhibition of which he is the artistic director, with a program that will range from Brahms to Stravinsky through Paganini, Mozart and Tchaikovsky.

Appointment on Tuesday, August 26th at 9.00 p.m., at Villa Lucheschi Valforte in Colle Umberto (Treviso).

Bashmet plays an Italian instrument, a precious viola created in 1758 by the lutist of Milan Paolo Testore.

A special concert for an intimate atmosphere that will be created by the Russian soloist who was able to use the viola for the first time ever as a renowned soloist instrument. A phenomenon caught by major composers fromaround the world who have then created for this instrument, and especially for Bashmet, more than fifty new pieces.
Bashmet’s performances have a hypnotic effect on the listener; his way of making music seems “like the rain that falls drop by drop, infiltrates in the heart and moves it”, as noted by the Anglo-Saxon journals.

In this concert of chamber music, the inspiration of the 61 year old artist will be able to express itself with all its refined power.

Aside him, nine musicians of the festival resident orchestra, “I Solisti di Mosca”, founded by Bashmet thirty years ago, creating one of the most appreciated partnerships of the contemporary scene. Since 1992, “I Solisti di Mosca” have performed more than 1300 concerts in front of audiences of more than 40 countries. Among the accolades received, the ensemble has obtained a Grammy Award in 2008 for his album including works by Stravinsky and Prokofiev published by ONYX.
